Katherine Froehlich-Grobe
Katherine Katherine is the Principal Investigator of the study.  She received her doctorate in behavioral psychology in 2001 and her professional passion is to do work which will help improve the daily lives and quality of life of individuals living with disabilities.  Katherine is a mother of 3 young and energetic kids, all of whom are 5 and younger.  She is an avid exerciser herself; exercise helps Katherine have the energy to keep up with her kids, helps relieve the stress and just makes her feel better all around.  Katherine also loves to read, mostly fiction and has many favorite authors.

Nicki Lutz

Katherine Nicki is the Project Coordinator of the study and has been with the study since the Fall of 2008. She is also in the process of obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Business Management with a Human Resource emphasis. In her free time Nicki enjoys spending time with friends and family, all kinds of movies and anything that involves being outdoors.

Angela Van Sciver

Katherine Angela Van Sciver is a fitness professional with more than 18 years of teaching experience as a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer.  She received an AA degree in Health & Physical Education from Dekalb College in Atlanta, Georgia and (2) BA degrees in Biology and Natural Science from Park University in Parkville, MO.  Her studies focused primarily on public health education and promotion, exercise physiology, kinesiology, and diabetes.  She is working towards certification as a clinical exercise specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine and as an inclusive fitness trainer through the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability.  Angela’s personal interests include spending time with family, traveling and doing anything that is physically active.

Dot Nary

Katherine Dot worked in the field of independent living for many years but changed careers in order to focus on health issues of people with disabilities.  She is currently completing a graduate degree, and hopes to keep one “wheel” in a research setting and the other in the community when she finishes her academic program.  Dot enjoys nature and started kayaking a few years ago.  Dot and her husband have two big dogs and two cats who all get along, sort of.

Jill Nesbitt

Katherine Jill is a master’s level psychologist working on her PhD in clinical health psychology.  Her primary research interests include behavior change, binge eating disorder and exercise.  Jill is currently a research assistant for Project WOW and also teaches personality psychology at KU.  In her free time, Jill loves spending time with her 3 children, running and watching reruns of the Brady Bunch.

Sarah Norman

Katherine Sarah was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM and came to KU as an undergraduate student.  While obtaining her BA in Sociology, she was also a member of the KU Swimming and Diving team.  Sarah is currently working on her master’s degree in Social Work and has been with the project since June of 2008.  In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.

Anna Frantz

Katherine Anna has been with Project WOW since the beginning of Summer 2009.  She is currently an undergraduate student at KU and is hoping to become an Occupational Therapist.  In her free time, Anna likes to spend time with her friends and family.  Anna is also a huge fan of anything Harry Potter!
