Lab

The Language Across the Lifespan Project addresses how aging affects the processing of spoken and written language including comparative studies of healthy older adults and adults with Alzheimer's dementia. On-going projects include studies of the costs of dual task demands for older adults as well as on-going investigations of techniques for enhancing communication between older adults and young adults, peers, and caregivers as well as the design of print and broadcast media for older adults.

The Communication and Aging Lab is under the direction of Susan Kemper, Ph. D., Roy A. Roberts Distinguished Professor of Psychology and a Senior Scientist with the Gerontology Center, a component of the Schiefelbusch Institute for Life Span Studies.
